Determining a Valid Group for BCBSIL

Resource Brokerage works with BlueCross and BlueShield of Illinois for fully-insured group medical:

 


A valid group with BCBSIL is a group that meets one of the following criteria:

  • They are a husband & wife partnership where the owners file a 1065 K1 (not 1120S K1).
  • They are a non-husband/wife partnership with multiple owners where the owners file a 1065 K1 OR an 1120S K1.
  • They are a non-partnership that has at least one common-law employee at time of submission.

Note: A common-law employee is a full-time or part-time W2 or 1099 employee that is not the business owner or the business owner’s spouse.
