Who Is Eligible for Fully-Insured Group Medical?

Meeting

There are many factors that help determine if a company can enroll in a group medical coverage: business structure, the level of employer contribution, and the level of employee participation.

Typically, a business needs at least one qualified, full-time equivalent employee besides the business owner in order to be eligible for group health insurance. However, this varies from carrier to carrier. For example, BCBSIL allows select partnerships that are required to file K1s to enroll in BCBSIL insurance as long as they meet minimum contribution and participation.
