The Federal government routinely reviews premiums/deductibles associated with the Federal Medicare programs on a year to year basis to determine if cost of living increases are necessary.

Medicare recently announced the 2013 premium/deductible increases for both Part A and Part B premiums. These changes are effective January 1, 2013. Please share this information with your clients:

Note the attached premiums are assuming a modified adjusted gross income below $85,000 per year for single filers and $170,000 for joint filers. If your Medicare beneficiaries have modified adjusted gross incomes above the above stated limits, there is a “sliding scale” of premiums. Please click on the link below to attain the appropriate premium amounts for the “upper income people” as the sliding scale also has been indexed to reflect the cost of living increases.
